The Mentor’s Update

November 2018

We are created to be in relationship: with God and with one another. And the best relationships with others help us to see God. Jesus said that the way to the Kingdom is to be like a child. And so, intergenerational relationships help us to find our way to the Kingdom.

Research shows that kids need impact adults in their lives. Adults that listen, that care, that ask questions, that support and challenge. That's our Mentoring Ministry. Check out what Search Institute says about what they "Developmental Relationships" here

We are grateful for our mentors. We are grateful for parents who, with their kids, join us in this ministry.

God created us in God's image to be in relationship with one another. Together we are living out the community that God dreams for all of us.

Mentors and mentees will have the opportunity to get together for guided conversations at our MUD Suppers. (MUD = Mercy UnDeserved) The MUD suppers and gatherings are going very well.

“In order to be a mentor, and an effective one, one must care. You must care. You don’t have to know how many square miles are in Idaho, you don’t need to know what is the chemical makeup of chemistry, or of blood or water. Know what you know and care about the person, care about what you know and care about the person you’re sharing with.”— Maya Angelou
