Low Lives & Renegades: The Theology of X Ambassadors

Recently I attended my annual birthday present, Big Gig, it’s a concert put on every year by 93.3. This year one of the bands playing was X Ambassadors. I was really unaware of most their music at the time but as I sat there listening a heard a remnant of one of my favorite bible verse,

I'm trying to fight the good old fight...But after it all, I'm still just a low life

2 Timothy 4:7    I have fought the good fight. I have finished the race. I have kept the faith

The song that was being performed was “Low Life”, and as I listened to the rest of the song and their other songs more bits and pieces of them jumped out as representing the people Jesus tended to seek out and save, the low lives, the renegades, those whose lives feel a little unsteady. We all fit into this category at some point in life and it can be the darkest, loneliest times of our lives. But remember that no matter how alone you feel that during those times is when God seeks you out and brings you up and into a new better life.
