Lost and Found

"All the treasures of the earth can't bring back one lost moment."
— French Proverb

Sometimes I find myself lost. Lost in the details. Lost in the noise. Lost in the crowd. Do you know what I mean? When there is so much to do, I can get lost in all that needs to be done and end up getting little done. The voices of the campaigns, reports of more violence, the never-ending news feed, the commercials…so much noise! I can get lost and find my head spinning, unable to focus on one thought.

The only way to be found is to abide. Spend some time with God. My Lenten practice of embracing the silence by driving without the radio or music helps. Taking my dog for a walk helps. Reading scripture in the mornings helps. Remembering that it’s not things (as the prodigal found out in Luke 15) that lead to life (what I get when I’m “found”) but relationships and peace.

We’ll be looking for you tomorrow at 9:00 or 10:30 a.m. as we remind one other that our good God looks for us, desires to have us and welcomes us into God’s presence. Rodney Jackson will be with us, too. We will be found in God’s grace.
