Looking Up

Dear Abundant Lifers,

Tonight, Performance Psychologist Dr. Jack Stark https://www.jackastark.com/ will be our guest speaker at the Zoom gathering called “The Well,” starting at 6pm. Jack is a great friend of God’s Grace Community Church. He has worked with many churches, Nebraska’s 1990’s NCAA National Championship football teams, NFL and NBA teams, NASCAR, Creighton University basketball, and Fortune 500 executives. He will be addressing techniques to get us through the stress and anxiety of times like these. We hope all of you can attend this Zoom gathering. If you are uncertain if you are on the invitation list for the gathering, email Vikki Luce. vikki.luce@godsgracecc.com

Tonight's teachings will help you gain the “abundant life“ Jesus has in mind for you.

“I came so they can have real and eternal life, more and better life than they ever dreamed.” (John 10:10)

The word “real” is interesting. Jesus is talking about both “eternal life” as well as “real life” right now. Do you want to step into the life of your dreams right now?

South African activist, Peter Storey, once noted with scorn about the “pie in the sky in the sweet bye and bye” attitude that some Christians have. Rather impatiently, he countered, ”I have no time for a gospel that has no power to change the world, this world.”

The Covid virus has laid bare many of the racial and economic challenges in our culture. People of color and those who dwell in poverty are clearly the hardest hit. Are we ready to examine the systems of taxation, healthcare, and educational opportunities to explore how the “dream life” might be experienced by all God’s children? Jesus' resurrection brings new life to the world now!

Anne Lamott says that grace is an “unseen sound that makes you look up.”   Let’s pray we all “look up.”

Still in One Peace,

Pastor David J. Jensen
