Living Water

John 7:38 (NIV): "Whoever believes in me, as Scripture has said, rivers of living water will flow from within them."

The voice of the Holy Spirit is like water to me. It pours over me and drips off my edges. I laugh alot. I cry alot too. I love those moments when tears spring from my eyes because someone has tickled me so hard that I cannot suppress the tears. I love the moments when my heart is touched and silent tears trickle down my cheeks.

Many times tears simply overwhelm me when I am listening to a story, watching others, praying, or observing life's simple pleasures. I used to be embarrassed by these tears. Not anymore. Crying cleanses my soul and empties me so that I can be filled up again. I strive to hear the voice of my tears.

I love it that water runs through my very soul. Call me a crack pot, but even better, a cracked pot. I never want to be a filled up vessel. If my pot is filled to the top it has no room to live and breathe.

Dear Jesus, keep me mostly empty so that I can be filled by stories that God intends for my life. Amen.

Fill My Cup, Lord

Like the woman at the well I was seeking
For things that could not satisfy;
But then I heard by Savior speaking:
"Draw from the well that never shall run dry."

Chorus: Fill my cup Lord, I lift it up Lord!
Come and quench this thirsting of my soul:
Bread of heaven, Feed me till I want no more--
Fill my cup, fill it up and make me whole!

There are millions in this world who are craving
The pleasures earthly things afford.
but none can match the wondrous treasure
That I find in Jesus Christ my Lord. [Chorus]

So, my brother (sister), if the things this world gave you
Leave hungers that won't pass away.
My blessed Lord will come and save you,
If you kneel to Him and humbly pray: [Chorus]
