Dear Brothers and Sisters,
“I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but it is Christ who lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.” (Galatians 2:19-20)
If Paul says to the Galatians, Christ lives “in me,” than the corollary must be true. Christ also lives “in you,” in each person. Here is a powerful basis for Christian community. To love Christ, to worship and adore Christ, also means to be able to recognize Christ “in” each person. What a strong theological basis for Christian ethics.
Our guest preacher this Sunday, Sharm Scheuerman has made this text from Galatians his “life verse.” It seems to me that in the wording of this text, St.Paul offers new life to all of us in Jesus' name. Let us each enter deeply into Paul’s teaching with prayer and thanksgiving.
See you on Sunday.
Still in one peace,
David J.Jensen
