Live and Help Live

“Listening is the oldest and perhaps the most powerful tool of healing we can offer someone. It’s often through the quality of our listening and not the wisdom of our words that we are able to effect the most profound changes in the people around us. Our listening creates sanctuary for the homeless parts within the other person. That which has been denied, unloved, devalued by themselves and by others. That which is hidden.”                                                                                                                                                                           Rachel Ramen M.D.

I’ve decided listening is an art. One that is not often cultivated in the society we live in. I have to work hard at it. I’m trying to be patient, to let God teach me through others. There is harmony between myself and others when I listen. They can learn much truth about themselves when given the space to express themselves. Likewise in the silence of listening I can see myself in union with others and have an opportunity to grow. I have been blessed by the power and grace of some of the simplest relationships, people who take me just as I am. Thank you Father, that I have a place in your world.

Abba God,
Thank you for the gift of my family, for all those you have and will put in my path this day. With simple acceptance and compassion you will heal the pain of our world today. Help me to be a positive light force in my grandchildren’s lives, as I spend precious time with them this weekend . Teach us to be present in you Lord , whatever path we are on. You Living Christ ,are all that is whole and good in our lives. Amen
