Lifting Up Our Senior Youth Missionaries

Ephesians 1:11-13: 11 In him we were also chosen,[e] having been predestined according to the plan of him who works out everything in conformity with the purpose of his will, 12 in order that we, who were the first to put our hope in Christ, might be for the praise of his glory. 13

This summer both our junior and senior high youth set aside a week of their lives to specifically live out the purpose of God’s will. They travelled across the country to sleep on hard floors, spend time with people they do not know, and listen to the stories of those who so desperately crave the attention of a loving heart. I give thanks for their commitment and their devotion to the call to serve others.

Dear God, thank you for watching over our youth as they ventured into a week of servitude. Thanks for giving them the opportunity to see the wonders of their good deeds. Bless the adult leaders who travelled with them as well. Thanks for providing them patience and strength to be an excellent leader. Now that they have returned, continue to provide courage and willingness to try new things. Perhaps they will also found that spending a week away from friends and family, and adapting to a different life style is actually a fun way to carry out Your Word and help serve others. Amen

Ephesians 2:8-10 8 For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— 9 not by works, so that no one can boast. 10 For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.

Next time you see one of the junior or senior high youth at church, be sure to take time to ask them about their journey.
