Just Do It

“Love God. Love a neighbor. Be a neighbor, and let us not complicate things by arguing about the specifics. You know what it means to do love because some time or another you have been on the receiving end of love...If you want the world to look different next time you go outside, do some love. Do a little or do a lot, but do some, and do not forget to get some for yourself...Just do it, and find out that when you do, you do live and live abundantly, just like the man said.” Barbara Brown Taylor

These words seem pretty basic don’t they? Just do a little love every time we go out. So why doesn’t it happen? We get caught up in our own needs, our own hurts, our own suffering. It can be hard to look outside.

Jesus reached out in his pain from the cross to care. If we want to be like Jesus, then we need to do that too.

It may be simple. But, it’s not easy.

Fortunately we have Jesus’ promise that he will be with us always. (Matt 28:20) So we’re not reaching out to do a little love from our suffering, we’re reaching out with Jesus.

With a little practice, we just might be able to do it.

We’ll be looking for you tomorrow at 9:00 or 10:30 a.m. In person. Via live stream. Or on demand. But, we’d really like to see you in person! So that we might do a little love.

Grace be with you,
