It's Not That Complicated

Do we make things hard?  Complicated?  Convoluted?  Muddled?  Um…yes.  Often I do.  I read too much into another’s comments.  I make up what I think the other person is thinking.  I over-do, over-react or over-reach.  Yes.  I can easily make my relationships and life difficult.

Jesus tries to show us and tell what’s important.  But I’m dense.  Instead of listening to him, I make it complicated.  In Luke 10:1-11 Jesus sends a big group of followers out ahead of him.  And he keeps it pretty simple.

  • Go
  • In Pairs
  • Travel light
  • Only spend time with people who receive your peace
  • Remember that it’s what God is doing, not what you are doing

A simple way to share God’s love and light with others.  Participate in Jesus’ healing power.  Jesus trusts us. Why don’t we trust ourselves?  Or, really – trust God?

So we make ourselves crazy when all we need are Jesus, relationships and peace.

We’ll be looking for you tomorrow as we gather to remind one another to keep it simple as we love God, love people and serve our neighbors.  9 or 10:30 am.

God bless you,
