Is, Was, Will Be

Romans 3:9-31

Romans 3:9 “What shall we conclude then? Are we any better?”

Better than who?  Of course we’re better than some, maybe better than a lot!  BUT, if you had the opportunity to stand with Jesus for one minute would you spend that time telling him how you were better than some, better than most?

Paul says in his letter to Rome (Romans 3:10-18) “There is no one righteous, not even one; there is no one who understands, no one who seeks GOD. All have turned away, they have together become worthless; there is no one who does good, not even one. Their throats are open graves; their tongues practice deceit. The poison of vipers is on their lips. Their mouths are full of cursing and bitterness. Their feet are swift to shed blood; ruin and misery mark their ways, and the way of peace they do not know. There is no fear of GOD before their eyes.”

Can we accept that we are fallen? I can call myself a sinner, but can I stand shoulder to shoulder with every man, woman, and child on this earth and serve? Where do I draw the line? Are they in prison? Is it my adultering neighbor? Or is it me… the one who draws the line?

In my one minute with Jesus would I ask him where the line is drawn? Or in my heart do I know the answer? And if I know the answer in my heart… how do I convince my mind?

Precious Father, Loving God, Holy Spirit I pray that I come to know GOD is not a concept, but a fact. Not someone I might spend a minute with, but the Lord of the Universe who is in me and through me and with me… who was with me, is with me, and will be with me.  AMEN!
