In Mourning
Dear Grievers,
We are all grieving something. What are you grieving? A broken dream, a death, a job loss, a marriage, relationship, career hope? We are all mourning something.
Today I mourn my Mom. 48 hours ago, Beverly Rae Jensen died at the Lifecare Center of Stonegate at 2pm, on Monday November 2nd, 2015.
It is important to grieve. At the risk of being cheesy and shallow I lose myself in video’s. Most of you know I love a good movie. If you search the theaters showing “Everest” you may stumble upon me today. A video that opened the tear ducts and gave them a good cleansing as I thought of my mom was Garth Brooks “The Dance”
My"go to" for Christian music is Ed Edwards, Randy Rigby and Dave Edwards. Those three guys have literally kept me in professional ministry, through the authentic approach they offer in worship. That said, sadly I do not have any of their music videos. So I offer up Rich Mullins https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8gBGGX3yvMo. What I know is that Rich brings me into the arms of Christ that my mother Beverly introduced me to.
For further reflection see John chapters 14-17.
Many of you have said what can I do? Call my precious Dad Milton Earl Jensen and invite him to something. Maybe not now. But in a week, a month, six months from now... when everybody has stopped asking “what can I do,” he could sure use lunch or a phone call or a note.
At the time of this writing, we hope to have Beverly’s funeral this Monday Nov. 9 at 5pm. See the God's Grace website for the location.
Still in one peace,
Pastor David J. Jensen
