In Mourning

Dear Grievers,

We are all grieving something. What are you grieving? A broken dream, a death, a job loss, a marriage, relationship, career hope? We are all mourning something.

Today I mourn my Mom. 48 hours ago, Beverly Rae Jensen died at the Lifecare Center of Stonegate at 2pm, on Monday November 2nd, 2015.

It is important to grieve. At the risk of being cheesy and shallow I lose myself in video’s. Most of you know I love a good movie. If you search the theaters showing “Everest” you may stumble upon me today. A video that opened the tear ducts and gave them a good cleansing as I thought of my mom was Garth Brooks “The Dance”

My"go to" for Christian music is Ed Edwards, Randy Rigby and Dave Edwards. Those three guys have literally kept me in professional ministry, through the authentic approach they offer in worship. That said, sadly I do not have any of their music videos. So I offer up Rich Mullins                                   https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8gBGGX3yvMo.                                                                                     What I know is that Rich brings me into the arms of Christ that my mother Beverly introduced me to.

For further reflection see John chapters 14-17.

Many of you have said what can I do? Call my precious Dad Milton Earl Jensen and invite him to something. Maybe not now. But in a week, a month, six months from now... when everybody has stopped asking “what can I do,” he could sure use lunch or a phone call or a note.

At the time of this writing, we hope to have Beverly’s funeral this Monday Nov. 9 at 5pm. See the God's Grace website for the location.

Still in one peace,
Pastor David J. Jensen

Hi Dave,
So very sorry to hear about the loss of your mom. She was a special lady and had a wonderful sense of humor. I pray that she didn't suffer long and now she is at peace. Please know that you and your whole family are in our thoughts and prayers. I'll check the website for service details.

Hi Jensen Family:

It was a privilege to know Bev and she was the sweetest lady with such a wonderful sense of humor. I will always cherish our talks and her wonderful smile and her joy in living, loving, and family. It is wonderful to see her in her granddaughter, Amanda!
Her legacy lives on in all of you.

It is so hard to lose a parent. Particularly one that you are so close to and love so very much. The loss of great love brings great sorrow but being grateful for the long and beautiful dance you had together allows you to be able to see the great blessing God gave you when he put that love in your life...and then you can be truly able to find peace, acceptance and the strength to joyfully celebrate their life in the midst of your great sorrow at their loss. Keep smiling through the tears at the wonderful memories you have of your Mom and be happy for her that heaven has a new angel.
Love, peace and strength to you and all of your family in this time of loss and change.
