Hospitality

Let mutual love continue. Do not neglect to show hospitality to strangers, for by doing that some have entertained angels without knowing it. ~ Hebrews 13:1-2

In the summer of 2014 a group from GGCC went to Booneville, MS to visit and serve our sister Angie, Big Mama and friends in the community. One thing that made an impact on me, and I think everyone on the trip, was the hospitality with which we were received. We were welcomed and embraced by everyone we met in Mississippi and on our travels to/from. It was as if God was saying – look at this: this is hospitality, see how good it feels. I want you to do this.

I have tried. I have been more open to welcoming people into my home. I try to welcome people in my heart and I look for Jesus in the other. It’s because of my visits to Booneville that I have grown in my own offerings of hospitality.

Thanks Jesus for connecting Pastor Dave with Big Mama and her family all those years ago. Thanks Jesus for teaching us, through our sisters and brothers in Booneville, MS, what true love and hospitality look like.

We’ll be looking for you tomorrow at 10:00 a.m. (one service only!) as we welcome Pastor and Mrs. Jolly from Hopewell Missionary Baptist Church near Booneville. Worship is followed by our Celebration Luncheon catered by Jose & Remy Mendoza. It will be a great morning you won’t want to miss.

Grace be with you,
Vikki
