Hosanna in the Highest!

We are fickle people. One minute loving the celebrities among us and the next turning our nose up at some reported misdeed. We are fair-weather fans, cheering when the team’s winning and booing when they’re not. We follow a parade for the festivities and then forget the reason for the celebration.

Tomorrow is the beginning of Holy Week with Palm Sunday. The day we remember when Jesus was welcomed into Jerusalem as hero, potential king and savior. It’s easy to get caught up with the crowd and enthusiastically wave. It’s another thing to be there when the mood of the crowd turns.

Practically everyone has known the taste of Palm Sunday, the sweetness of success and popularity, and nearly all of us have tasted the bitterness of Good Friday, of failure and rejection. What saves us from an endless round of ups and downs, what frees us from the tyranny of events over which we have no control is our commitment to press forward in obedience to God -it is trust in God’s love to bring about Easter morning, – knowing that the meaning of life is to be found in the knowledge and love of God,- and in sharing that knowledge and love with those who accompany us on the way. Rev. Richard J. Fairchild

We’ll be looking for you tomorrow at 9:00 and 10:30 as we have our own little parade for Jesus and remember his passion too.

Grace be with you,
