Hopefulness Nudges

“How blessed is God! And what a blessing he is! He’s the Father of our Master, Jesus Christ, and takes us to the high places of blessing in him. Long before he laid down earth’s foundations, he had us in mind, had settled on us as the focus of his love, to be made whole and holy by his love. Long, long ago he decided to adopt us into his family through Jesus Christ. (What pleasure he took in planning this!) He wanted us to enter into the celebration of his lavish gift giving by the hand of his beloved son.

Abundantly Free! He thought of everything, provided for everything we could possibly need, letting us in on the plans he took such delight in making. He set it all out before us in Christ, a long-range plan in which everything would be brought together and summed up in him, everything in deepest heaven, everything on planet earth.” Ephesians 1 “The Message”

If I do not find where my heart’s true home is daily, I can easily get caught up in the ideas, the activities and the people that pull me away from God’s best plan for my life. I can lose sight of Jesus the Christ, the freedom his example, his sacrifice bought for me. My life is an inevitable surrender of losses. Some losses are large, some are small. Some, I recognize my own powerlessness and just let go. This is when I most recognize the hopeful nudges Jesus brings into my life. A sweet peace in knowing that Christ’s love is guiding my day leading me like a child.

“Ground of all being, Mother of life, Father of the universe, your name is sacred beyond speaking. May we know your presence, may your longings be our longings in heart and in action. May there be food for the human family today and for the whole earth community. Forgive us the falseness of what we have done as we forgive those who are untrue to us. Do not forsake us in our time of conflict but lead us into new beginnings. For the light of life, the vitality of life, and the glory of life are yours now and forever." Amen (Casa del Sol prayer of Jesus)
