Hold the Door Please!

At my wedding, the Pastor spoke of Kairos, God’s time, and how our life’s journey is preparing ourselves for what God has in store for us. I try to make a five-year plan but along the way doors open and the path takes a different route, hence a new five-year plan that will not come to fruition. But it starts me preparing for the future. Kairos.

Sometimes I see these doors coming, some are surprises, and some I pass through like a person texting while walking and I never know that God has opened a door for me. Ignorance is bliss. I used to look back and even try to keep the doors from closing, but I have learned forward is a much better direction to go, because God has a plan for us. I still try to follow my own plan, much to his amusement I imagine, but the more I focus my energy on preparing myself as best I can for the future, and trust that Kairos is a more beautiful path than I could imagine, I find peace. And excitement.

Knowing God has a plan for us is very exciting! I can’t wait to see what the Kairos reveals. I work hard to be ready. Open the door, I will enter. Thank you God for the joy of faith and the beauty of Kairos.

"When one door closes another door opens; but we so often look so long and so regretfully upon the closed door, that we do not see the ones which open for us."
