Sometimes I have a hard time asking for help. Is it easy for you? I think I should be able to do this or that by myself – or, I think I should be strong enough, smart enough, or quick enough to do it myself. Somewhere in my raising or in our culture, I’ve been taught to believe that it’s a sign of weakness to ask for help.

Isn’t that silly?

Asking for help isn’t weak, it’s allowing someone into your life and into relationship. We were created for relationship, that’s who we are; that’s who God is.

In Matthew 15:21-28, a woman who “shouldn’t have”, asked Jesus for help. She wasn’t afraid to be seen as weak or rude or politically incorrect. She knew that God’s help is for everyone.

We’ll be looking for you tomorrow at 9 or 10:30 to spend some time together with this scripture and to remind one another of God’s unfailing love.

Grace and peace,
