Heavenly Father

Dear Children of God,

Written in a Father’s Day Card:

“Dad, everything I know learned from you,

Except one thing that I learned on my own:

The family car will go 110 mph!”

                                 Happy Father’s Day!

What did you learn from your Dad?  Some of you have fond memories, others hold feelings of their biological father being less than they had hoped, for them.

I am sorry if your earthly father has caused you to be wounded. I am filled with joy if your earthly father has been a positive influence upon your life.

The fact is that no father can replace the ultimate relationship we each have which is with our Heavenly Father. 1John 3:1 says, ”See what love the (Heavenly) Father has given us that we should be called children of God: and that is what we are.” May the embrace of your Heavenly Father’s love be your primary source of life, grace, and mercy.

See Ephesians 4:6 for further reflection.

Prayers: For Fatherhood; for Angie Jumper, our guest preacher this weekend and her mission trip team.
