He Lives

He is risen. He is risen, indeed!
This weekend we celebrated a sacred & holy holiday. Easter!
Much of the worldly emphasis is placed on the big bunny, colorful eggs, and assorted candy. By now, we have all had our fill of these wonderful traditions. Does anyone have any great recipes for leftover Peeps and Jelly Bean casseroles? One can only tolerate a certain amount of egg salad, just saying.

The true meaning of Easter is knowing that Jesus died on a rugged cross for each and every one of our sins. On Easter Sunday, he rose from the grave for our eternal life with Him in heaven. "The Easter hope sums up all things new in the risen Christ." ( Ephesians 1:10)

My favorite childhood Easter hymn is, "I know that my Redeemer lives."
What comfort this sweet sentence gives.

He lives to bless me with His love.
He lives to plead for me above.
He lives my hungry soul to feed.
He lives to help in time of need.
He lives to silence all my fears.
He lives to wipe away my tears.
He lives and grants me daily breath.
He lives and I shall conquer death.
He lives my mansion to prepare.
He lives to bring me safely there.

Knowing and believing that our Redeemer lives, gives us true hope of Heaven.

Because of Easter, we have the faith and trust that the tears we shed, the struggles we endure, our pain and emotional heartache will all be a distant past. "God will wipe away every tear from their eyes, there will be no more death, mourning, crying or pain for the old order of things has passed away." ( Revelation 21:4)
What a wonderful comfort this gives to all Believers whose loved ones have reached that heavenly splendor. The vision of my parents square dancing with the angels is spectacular!

"I know that my Redeemer lives and He shall stand at last on the earth." ( Job 19:25)
