Gratitude - Giving Thanks in EVERYTHING

Give thanks to the God of heaven. His love endures forever. (Psalm 136:26 NIV)

Happy Spring!! The weather is warming, the grass is turning bright green and the April showers are bringing May flowers!!

This last Sunday we celebrated Easter. What a glorious day!! Leading up to Easter Sunday, many participated in a practice of giving up something. This year I guess you could say I decided to give up seeing the “down side” of things and began to be even more intentional about focusing on the “upside” of EVERYTHING. Yes, EVERYTHING!!

I was recently gifted a Gratitude Journal so what better time to start this new intentional practice. The Webster Dictionary defines Gratitude as being grateful; Thankfulness. It lists synonyms and antonyms as appreciation, appreciativeness, gratefulness, thankfulness, thanks … you get the picture.

One other thing I was recently gifted with is “things happen FOR us, not TO us”. Everything that we encounter in life is preparing us for the next thing. As I take a few minutes at the end of my day to reflect on my day and the things I am grateful for, I have been gifted the amazing beauty of seeing life thru a slightly different lens.

What are you grateful for? It is my hope that no matter what your day brings, you are able to see the beauty and the gifts God has given you. HE is amazing!!

Dear God, Thank you for the beauty of this day. I am grateful for the unique set of gifts that you have given each of us. May we use these gifts to be a light to others and build each other up. Please help us to be mindful of our words and actions and know that regardless of the events in our day, things are happening FOR us. May we go out to be a blessing to others. In your name we pray. Amen.

Incredible! This blog looks just like my old one! It's on a
entirely different subject but it has pretty much the same layout and design. Wonderful choice
of colors!
