Going With the Flow
The Power of Going with the Flow
There are many times over the course of the Gospels that the “flow” Jesus is going with comes into question by everyone around him. Even Jesus himself questions the flow of things as his death nears. The “flow” of our lives is not necessarily what society wants us to do, and it is not doing immoral or evil things. Trusting that God will not waste what is occurring in our lives is going with the flow. Even when you are rolling with the punches, you get hit occasionally.
I discovered my favorite band, Dispatch, because of God’s Grace. In their most recent album the song “Windylike” has a chorus that gives a great summary of going with the flow.
Like a bird caught in a curtain
This temporary entanglement may lead to an open sky
Oh you're looking for the perfect pardon
But there ain't gonna be any man anymore
Cuz if it's windy like in the morning
And we are all just lost at sea
We're gonna fight
For in the end our only right
Is to live and love and work and be
As we go through trials and tribulations let us understand that “this temporary entanglement may lead to an open sky.” “Live and love and work and be”.
