God is in the wind...

Someone I consider to be spiritually wise once told me "God is in the wind." She told me this when I was in a true discerning period, trying to figure out what God had in store for me next. At this juncture, I was getting advice from others who said to pray until I clearly heard the voice of God speak to me. Now, don't get me wrong, if you're one of the people that hears the direct voice of God, I am happy for you. That is a blessing! I am just not one of you. If you're like me and you get direction from God in other ways you know it can be challenging. I have come to realize though that however frustrating it may be, the discerning process and quest for direction are very valuable.

"He who forms the mountains,
creates the wind,
and reveals his thoughts to man,
he who turns dawn to darkness,
and treads the high places of the earth—
the LORD God Almighty is his name."
Amos 4:13

In the quest, in the stillness and quiet, God is teaching you, growing you, drawing you nearer. So today, take a moment to see how God is directing you. You may feel Him in the wind, you may feel strong direction in your gut, or you may just feel confused. Trust that He is always there. It might just be in the quest that He seems most near.

Grace & Peace,

Amanda Jensen
