God Does Love

Psalm 66

verse 1 “Shout for Joy to God, all the earth!”
verse 2 “Come and see what God has done, how awesome his works in man’s behalf!”

Is this a time of joy for you? Can you feel God’s presence? The psalmist recalls the joy of God in his life and the points where he felt God the most.

I don’t know where this finds you, but I pray it finds you with God. The God who loves us so much he sent his only son to “love up” on us.

If I look back over the past few years as the psalmist does, I got to tell you I see so much of God in my life it scares me. Two years ago my wife and I were deciding to send our daughter to Diamond Ranch Academy because we weren’t sure she wouldn’t hurt herself. It wasn’t quiet discussions… it was tense, harsh, tough times where each of us wasn’t sure what was right, what was best, or what to do. We sent her off and as part of the process had some counseling sessions with DRA. One of the statistics that sticks in my mind is that the odds were 70 – 80% that our marriage wouldn’t last in this situation. God doesn’t do statistics! God does love!

And the psalmist says “Shout for Joy to God, all the earth!”

Here we are November 17th 2009… our daughter has a job, enrolled herself into college, seems to love life,… and me… I have been blessed by my Creator, Lord, and Savior with an awesome family!

And the psalmist says “Come and see what God has done, how awesome his works in man’s behalf!”

I don’t know where this finds you in life, but take heart! As the psalmist says in verse 19 “…God has surely listened; and heard my voice in prayer…” It may not seem to you like God is near, but believe me when I say…I felt alone, I felt lost, I was hurting, I was in pain… and now... now I look back and shout for joy to all the earth for I have been saved by God! AMEN!

Precious Father, Loving GOD, Holy Spirit, Wherever we are in life I pray we shout for joy to all the earth, AMEN!
