I just looked up how many times the word "give" is mentioned in the Bible. How many times is it mentioned? A lot.

When I get stressed out with all my worries and all the things to do on my "to do" list, I find that I am pretty miserable. Then eventually I remember that usually happens when I'm consumed by worrying about myself. And the way I try to work to remedy this is two fold:      1- I have to beef up on praying.  2- I must remember that I need to worry some more about the needs of others around me. These two things are what I work to strive for and often fall short of, but it's good to work toward.

It's about reminding myself that we're not technically supposed to spend much time worrying since we have a God who tells us not to worry and to bring everything to Him in prayer. And reminding myself that I should spend less time talking about myself in conversations and more time listening and supporting others. Giving my worries to God, and giving my heart and support to others. Giving.

"Devote yourselves to prayer. Being watchful and thankful." Colossians 4:2

"Be humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love." Ephesians 4:2

So, today I encourage you to give of yourself instead of drawing inward. And see how God works through you.
