Give Thanks

Dear Brothers and Sisters,

“Enter God's gates with thanksgiving, and God's courts with praise.” Psalm 100:4

Counting your blessings is good therapy. Start a daily journal. Studies have shown that those who do this report fewer symptoms of illness, feel better about their lives as a whole, and more optimistic about the upcoming week than those who didn’t keep any journal, or those who kept a journal that recorded their daily hassles.

I would also urge you to be specific in your thankfulness. Pray for people by name, and give thanks to God for particular blessings in your life. Also tell individuals with some detail how they have influenced your life for the better. Be vulnerable enough to let those know who have blessed your life and how they did it. Details help us to soak in the full gift of God's mercy and grace!

For further reflection read all of Psalm100.

Prayers: For all who mourn my friend Nancy Maakestad. Political leaders of all countries. That an attitude of gratitude might flow over all humanity.

Give thanks for God’s love and mercy!

Still in One Peace,

Pastor David J. Jensen
