From the Well

Dear Brothers and Sisters,

“This movement was not just about desegregating the buses, or even just the mistreatment of our people in Montgomery. This movement was about slaking the centuries old thirst of a long suffering people for freedom, dignity, and human rights. It was time to drink at the well.”  Rosa Parks

If you don’t know much about Rosa Parks, take some time to study the life of this courageous civil rights leader. She refused to go to the back of the bus as African Americans were expected to do. Her decision set off a critical wave of resistance in the civil rights movement.

Where do you need to take courage and drink from the well?

Prayers: For the Mitchell family as Gloria's journey with cancer ended yesterday Jan 23 and she passed into eternal life.  For Leadership and Followership. For the poor and homeless. Our global community. For Rodney Jackson as he recovers from foot surgery.  And for the Advance on prayer this Saturday.  See the GGCC website for details.

See Mark 1:21-28 for further reflection.

Still in One Peace,

Pastor David J. Jensen
