From the rising of the sun

In case you haven’t heard, there’s going to be an eclipse on Monday. I think that’s really cool. Our creator set in motion the rising of the sun, the earth spinning and the moon going around it. These things work orderly and in just the right fashion for us to have life. Amazing.

From the rising of the sun to its setting the name of the Lord is to be praised. Psalm 113:3

O give thanks to the Lord, for he is good…who made the great lights, for his steadfast love endures forever; the sun to rule over the day, for his steadfast love endures forever; the moon and stars to rule over the night, for his steadfast love endures forever. Psalm 136:1, 7-9

Praise him, sun and moon; praise him, all you shining stars! Psalm 148:3

May we stop and remember to praise God for the wonders of creation. I hope it’s not cloudy and we actually get to see the portion of the eclipse that will be visible to us here in Colorado. But even if it is, may we remember that God is our light and life.

The sun shall no longer be your light by day, nor for brightness shall the moon give light to you by night; but the LORD will be your everlasting light, and your God will be your glory. Isaiah 60:19

We’ll be looking for you tomorrow at 9:00 and 10:30 am as we gather to celebrate this God who gives us this incredible creation, relationships that shape and form us and stands with us in all things.

Grace be with you,

PS: Just do me a favor, don’t look directly at the sun during the phases of the eclipse. Our eyes can’t handle that much wonder!
