Forget About It!

Is being forgetful a good thing? Usually not, right? I can waste a lot of time trying to remember where I put this or that and having to go in search for the item. I feel bad if I forget a birthday or another moment of remembrance. Is forgetfulness a sign of aging or disease? Perhaps it’s a sign of being too busy and over scheduled.

God is omnipotent: having unlimited power and able to do anything. That’s we what we believe about our Creator and heavenly Father.

So would God be forgetful?

Yes! Not in the “sorry, I forgot to make it stop raining” kind of way. But in the, “your sins are forgiven and I’ve forgotten all about them” kind of way.

I’m not making it up. Check out Jeremiah 31:31-34.

It’s pretty hard for us to make our self forget something on purpose. The more we try to forget, the harder it is to forget. But not for our omnipotent God. God can do anything, even forget about our sins.

We’ll be looking for you tomorrow at 9:00 or 10:30 a.m. We gather to worship and praise our “forgetful” God. We’ll confess our sins and then believe God forgets all about them. We’ll sing and laugh and hear God’s word proclaimed from the books of Jeremiah, John, Romans and Ephesians. It’s going to be good.

Grace be with you,
