Follow the Light

Dear Peacemakers,

Light has shown into our darkness. It is a welcoming, inviting sort of light—Christ, the “light of the world.” This “light” not only shines into our world but also invites us to come toward the light. This light must not only be seen and acknowledged, but also followed. Thus Jesus, the “light of life,” calls us to follow him, to be his disciples, to serve him wherever we are, in all that we do. We are gathered in community as those who have been called.

Let us pray, Lord Jesus,we weren’t looking for you, only to discover that you were looking for us. We were in no way reaching out to you, only to be surprised that you were reaching toward us. You came to us, tracked us down, sought us out, called us, and summoned us. Lord give us what we need to be faithful followers to your call. Amen.

See Matthew 4:12-23 for more information.

A great opportunity for teaching and training as disciples found by the love of Jesus is yours this Saturday. Come to the Peacemakers Conference lead by Dr. Rick Love. The website http://ggcc.publishpath.com/Home/p/289824/Default.aspx will give you all the details. Go see “American Sniper.” That movie will leave you craving more information on how you as a ” follower of the light” (Jesus) can learn to be a peacemaker in a multi-faith filled world. Saturday's workshop promises to leave you in a place where you have more tools to make peace in a conflicted world. Let us be filled with the light that pushes back all darkness.

Still in one peace,
Pastor David J. Jensen
