Feel the Rumble

Dear Brothers and Sisters,

“And suddenly there was a great earthquake; for an angel of the Lord, descending from heaven, came and rolled back the stone and sat on it." Matthew 28:2  Easter had occurred via an earthquake. The world would never again be the same.

Winston Churchill once said, “History can be a great teacher. Yet, most of the time, we simply get up, brush ourselves off, and learn nothing at all.”

Is that how we have treated Easter? Here is God's greatest reversal of history, the total dissolution of our march toward death, God’s triumph over sin and death, and what do we do? We get up, we brush ourselves off, and continue our lives as if nothing of any “earth-shaking significance” happened.

This is the sadness of the post-Easter church—our obliviousness to Easter. The world is quaking and shaking. Easter surrounds us all the time!

Still in One Peace,

Pastor David J. Jensen
