Fall Bounties

Ecclesiastes 3:1-2  For everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven: a time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up what is planted...

Fall is my favorite season. The transition from summer to winter is exciting, but it requires us to move fast to fully enjoy all it has to offer before the doldrums of winter arrive. Off to the mountains to see the changing of the leaves. Fishing is outstanding wherever you go. Time to gather the harvest and prepare food for freezing, canning or just cooking the bounty we have been given. Fall is a great reminder of all God has given us, and so we celebrate soon with Thanksgiving. And we share this with others.

Matthew 9: 37-38 Then he said to his disciples, “The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few; therefore ask the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into his harvest.”

I am grateful for the opportunities we are given to share with others – working with kids at Open Door, Thanksgiving baskets at Paris Elementary, Bingo at The Gathering Place, and many other chances to serve are awaiting us. God please send me out to be a laborer in your harvest. Thanks be to God for the bounties he has bestowed upon us.
