Extolling Thanks

New Year’s Resolutions🎉

Many of us make New Year’s resolutions. Some may have already gone by the wayside...usually the diet and exercise ones!

A devotion in “Our Daily Bread”, has encouraged/challenged me to start a “Thanks Journal”in this New Year. We all have so much to be thankful for, but yet at times dwell on the anxieties and concerns of everyday life. My prayer is to be mindful of God’s presence and focus on the time for praise and thanksgiving.

In the shortest of all the Psalms, Psalm 117 has two precious verses. “1.Praise the Lord, all you nations; extol Him, all you peoples. 2. For great is His love toward us, and the faithfulness of the Lord endures forever. Praise the Lord.

I did Google the definition of the word, ‘extol’...not a word used often. It means to ‘Praise Enthusiastically, Glorify, and Honor!

How has the Lord shown His love for you today? God’s love is seen not only in the Extraordinary, but in the ordinary, everyday circumstances of daily living. My New Year’s resolution for this year is to hold dear to my journal entries and be dedicated to praise and thanksgiving for all the many blessings of the Lord’s grace, and mercy.

Happy New Year!

Linda Culberson
