Tomorrow is Palm Sunday and the beginning of Holy Week. In the scripture reading from Matthew 21: 1-11 we hear the story of Jesus receiving a royal welcome in Jerusalem. A sentence that stuck out to me in this reading is, “The disciples went and did exactly what Jesus told them to do.”

It’s not very often that the disciples or we do exactly what Jesus says to do. What does Jesus tell us? To love God and to love our neighbors.

We might not be sure what that looks like in this time of the coronavirus and physical distancing, so let’s not make it complicated.

We are intentional to engage scripture and prayer. (Join our Easter Prayer Vigil on Saturday, April 11 from 4:00 – 8:00 pm by signing up for a 6 minute slot here.)

We are intentional to love others by sheltering in place, wearing a mask in public, not hoarding, reaching out to those who are isolated, sharing freely what we have, being a light in the darkness.

Jesus knows it’s hard, so he promises to be with us. Always. With God’s help we can follow Jesus even in the midst of this pandemic.

We’ll be looking for you tomorrow at 10:00 am for our Palm Sunday worship livestream. It won’t be the same without YOU! Share the link, you never know who might need to hear the Good News. Send me photos of your worship space. We’re in this together.

Grace be with you,
