Everything Has It's Time

“To everything there is a season.  A time for every purpose under heaven.”

“A time to be born and a time to die.  A time to plant and a time to harvest.  A time to kill and a time to heal.  A time to tear down and a time to build up.  A time to cry and a time to laugh.  A time to mourn and a time to dance.  A time to cast away stones and a time to gather stones.  A time to embrace and a time to turn away.  A time to gain and a time to lose.  A time to keep and a time to throw away.  A time to tear and a time to mend.  A time to keep silence and a time to speak.  A time to love and a time to hate.  A time of war and a time of peace.” Ecclesiastes  3: 1-8

The different seasons in a year help us to remember how appropriate the different seasons are in our lives.  There is peace with God when we appreciate and accept God’s perfect timing. Our expectations and beliefs do give us a sense of order.  They also can rob us of the ability to experience life fully.

My relationships have taken many twists and turns this summer.  I have mourned the loss of health and vitality of certain family members, while remembering with joy healthier happier times with these same loved ones.  The joy of spending time in the mountains with three generations of family members is something I will not forget. The wonder in a child’s eye as they see their first moose and experience God’s perfect creation for the first time. Life is full of wonder.  Life is full of the unknown.  Life is full of mystery.  When we accept that there is no quick fix for life’s circumstances, we realize moving into the unknown is often where we find healing and experience life at its fullest.

Abba God,
For those you have given us to journey with we give you thanks.  Help us to see the seasons that turn around us as the key to the secret of living with you Father God, in peace.  We put our trust Lord into your perfect timing.  Amen
