Everyone's In

Let’s say you were throwing a dinner party. Who is the one person you’d invite? The five people you’d invite? The twenty people you’d invite?

With one – you’d be pretty selective, right? With five, fairly selective. But with twenty or more, you might have to widen the circle.

Let’s say Jesus was throwing a dinner party. Who is the one person he’d invite? The five people he’d invite? The twenty or more, people he’d invite?

Are the lists different?

Perhaps. Jesus tells us who he’d invite in Luke 14:12-24. I’m not sure those people made my list.

In the Kingdom of God, everyone’s welcome. Everyone’s in.

Even the person who’s probably not on our list. You know, the one who is in a different political party. The one on the edges. The person on the street corner. The one we dislike. Even you. Even me.

In the Kingdom of God, everyone’s welcome. Everyone’s in.

What a gift! Will we accept Jesus’ invitation? Will we invite others? That’s the question.

We’ll be looking for you tomorrow at 9:00 or 10:30 as we explore that question together.

Grace be with you,

Vikki
