Endings and Beginnings

“Now we are seeing a dim reflection in a mirror; but then we shall be seeing face to face. The knowledge I have now is imperfect; but then I shall know as fully as I am known. In short, there are three things that last: faith, hope, and love; and the greatest of these is love.  1 Corinthians 13: vs. 12&13 (The Jerusalem Bible)

We have moments in our life when we are asked to step beyond ourselves and embrace something far from anything we could ever imagine. We get drawn to respond, wait, or turn away. Nothing ever ends without something else beginning or begins without something else ending. There are, empty spaces in our lives.

Can we learn to trust life and welcome this space?

Do we continue to follow a familiar pattern in our life or do we face times of loss and change with a sense of curiosity and wonder?

I have to stand still, take the time to let God find me, every day. I need to know the source that grounds me is not myself. I often find within my family and my relationships, that life is not broken. I don’t need to fix anything, life is for celebrating. Faith, hope, and love is for sharing. Endings and Beginnings, moving into other peoples’ stories, not turning away is where we often feel the most valuable and alive.

Loving Creator,
I am not asking to overcome my weakness, but to use it in some way to glorify you. Let me be aware of the many ways you reach out to help me today and let me stand in awe of the power that you use in loving ways.  Amen
