Today – the day between Good Friday and Easter morning – is about emptiness.

We don’t like empty. We try to fill up the empty: cupboards, closets, space. We don’t want to feel empty and try to fill up our time, relationships and hearts.

But empty was the only way for Jesus to go from life to death to life. (See Philippians 2:1-10)

It’s not easy to empty out our shame, guilt, fears. And in fact, it’s downright difficult. But we can walk through it knowing that Jesus has been there.

When we’re empty there’s, finally, room for God. For hope. For mercy. For peace. For love.

May we spend time emptying out the “stuff” that keeps us from God, so that tomorrow will be a day of great celebration.

We’ll be looking for you and your friends and family at 9:00 or 10:30 am in the RCHS Auditorium.

Grace be with you,
