Embracing Change

Over the course of the last few years I have been through an incredible amount of change. For starters, in February 2013 my husband Jason and I got married. Four short months later we made a leap of faith and relocated to Colorado. Then in September of the same year, while we were still getting acclimated to life in Colorado, we were blessed to be pregnant with our first born, Azlynn. This is just 2013.

For anyone, this amount of change can truly make or break you. In a way, it made us and in a way, it also broke us. But we embraced it all and let God do whatever He needed to do to carry us through.

As we near the end of 2016 I look back, at that time in my life and I see God in all the change. My faith was the one thing that carried me through it all. Amidst the struggle, the frustration and often regret, He was there. He pulled me back and showed me, see that moment when you became a mom? That was me. See when you left your family and friends in California to start a new life in Colorado, who do you think got you there? Me.

I saw a quote that has stuck with me. I often refer to it when I feel overwhelmed with the amount of change occurring at any given moment. It reminds me that it’s okay to slow down and embrace the change. To not run from it or try to analyze it or plan it out too much so I can try to control it… Just embrace it. God is working through me and to let the rest of my doubt go.

“An arrow can only be shot by pulling it backward. When life is dragging you back with difficulties. It means it’s going to launch you into something great. So just focus and keep aiming.”

To me, that arrow is God launching me into greatness. I remain focused, aim and have faith.
