Do Not Worry

Matthew 6:25-34

[ Do Not Worry ] “Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes? Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life? ...

Worry, there once was a reason to worry. Lions and tigers and bears might jump out of the bushes and gobble us up. Today worry takes on more subtle forms. Will people like me? Will my boss fire me? Will I have enough money to pay the bills? Some worry we don't even know we are hanging onto until we get sick.

I just started learning bio-feedback. I have the task of trying to train my brain to relax my body, and hopefully ease my pain. Erasing a lifetime of fight or flight habits is hard to do. I know no technique I try will have any lasting effect if I don't bring God along.

Worry adds nothing to my only steals time, joy, peace and health. Jesus' words calm the stress and allow me to let go and breathe.

Abba, thank-you for sending your Son to teach us to breathe in your presence, and to take all our concerns to you in prayer. Walk daily with me. Amen

Scatter joy!
