Currents of Hope

Who are the leaders of today? I see them out there – amazing young people who are doing incredible things. They live with integrity, simplicity, a focus on relationships and joy. That’s who I see. You might have a different impression about younger generations from media, but I see leaders who I trust to take us into the future.

What do we want future generations to say about us? Perhaps this:

Let the future say of our generation that we sent forth mighty currents of hope, and that we worked together to heal the world. - Jeffrey Sachs

How can we work together to heal the world? We begin right where we are, with ourselves, with the people who live with us, the people who live near us and go from there. We practice random acts of kindness. We smile. We live like people who know they are beloved children of God.

Simple, but not necessarily easy. May we be leaders who rise up to send waves of mercy and grace crashing down all around us. May we encourage younger leaders in their work and lives. May we be known as people who work together in diversity to heal the world.

We’ll be looking for you tomorrow at 10:00 am as we gather to worship God, hear God’s Word and send currents of hope into our world. It won’t be the same without you.

Grace be with you,
