Crazy Love

Dear Loved Ones,

Episcopal priest Barbara Brown Taylor imagines God addressing humanity with this impassioned plea:

“I am so crazy in love with you that I will come all the way to where you are to be where you are to be flesh of your flesh , bone of your bone. I will do it all, and all you have to do is believe me—that I love you the way you are, love you enough to become one of you, and I love you to death.” (Barbara Brown Taylor, Mixed Blessings, Cowley, p. 50)

The schools were closed yesterday in Los Angeles, California. Terror had invoked its way upon us yet again. However, the audacity of God is that the angels are sent once more this Advent Christmas season to say ”Fear not, I love you.” But the schools are closed and the children are threatened , ”Fear not I love you.” But, Paris is still finding its way, and San Bernardino is mourning. ”Fear not and know I love you.” But, 2015 has been hard- illness, lost loved ones and a forecast of uncertainty for 2016, “Fear not, I love you.”

God is “crazy in love with you.” Fear not!

See Luke 1:39-55 for further reflection.

Still in one peace,
Pastor David J. Jensen
