Confluence Ministries seeks to bring together diverse streams of the Body of Christ to serve through strategic City Impact, practical Community Development and compassionate World Outreach.

GGCC partners with Confluence serving at their yearly West Colfax Neighborhood Festival by setting up and tearing down and staffing booths, helping set up and serving food at their GED graduation ceremonies, tutoring children once a week through their Whiz Kids tutoring program and providing support financially to the organization.

Whiz Kids at Confluence Ministries, 1400 Quitman St. Denver, October thru April

Confluence hosts Whiz Kids, a tutoring program with a faith-based element that has been in the Denver metro area for 23 years. Whiz Kids' mission is to help improve the lives of disadvantaged kids through academic tutoring, positive mentoring relationships and spiritual nurture.

Whiz Kids trains tutors to provide extra literacy and math help to under-privileged students who are struggling academically.  They have a wonderful orientation program for new tutors and provide great resources to help tutors.

The tutoring is one hour and then following that, with parent permission, they have a 30 minute "club" with a Bible story, brief lesson, songs and prayer.
