Dear Easter People,

The God of Israel is a God who calls out ordinary people to do godly work. Jesus is the one who calls and the risen Christ continues to call:

“Because he loved your ancestors, he chose their descendants after them.” (Deuteronomy 4:37)

“It was not because you were more numerous than any other people that the Lord set his heart on you and chose you—for you were the fewest of all peoples. It was because the Lord loved you and kept the oath he swore to your ancestors.” (Deuteronomy 7:7,8)

“You did not choose me but I chose you. And I appointed you to go and bear fruit, fruit that will last…” (John 15:16)

May we live each day in the wake of Easter. You are chosen. Do not become frozen in the face of fear from North Korea to where ever you roam. In each moment that appears to be the end, know that the Christ who rose again from the grave will offer you a fresh start. For you are chosen and set apart.

*You will not want to miss this Sunday at God’s Grace Community Church as Ron Mitchell will be preaching on the “Music of Prince and Generosity.”

Prayers: For peace in the midst of nuclear threat. For our preacher this Sunday Ron Mitchell. Our mission partners Rev Kelly, Jude and Cindy Delhierro, Brad Corrigan and Daisy Wiberg, The Gathering Place, Linda Pounds and all others chosen to serve with us, that peace might break out in our midst.

Still in One Peace,

Pastor David J. Jensen
