Chaordic

John 3:8 (NIV): “The wind blows wherever it pleases. You hear its sound, but you cannot tell where it comes from or where it is going. So it is with everyone born of the Spirit.”

Somewhere between chaos and order is chaordic. Life grabs us like the wind out of control and we know not where we will be blown. Remember times when you bow your head and say, “Thank you Jesus for everything you have blessed me with.” And the next thing you know, you look around you and see pain and suffering as you feel the winds of change blow through your life.

But if not for the wind in our sails, we would not move. Just as a boat at sea without any waves, we would sit still and not be exposed to the beauty of the ocean as we sail through the seas’ valleys and mountains. We would not be pushed or pulled to see new stuff.

The spirit of God blows over me to move me to the next thing; or to simply see life in a new way. If thesands did not blow across that stone along the shore, it would not be smoothed over into a beautiful rock over time. God knows the order of my life. He will maintain the balance. He sets my sail and controls my movement.

So long as I don’t try to drive the boat alone.

I like chaos. It gives me order. I like being chaordic!

Dear God,
Be the captain of my ship. Let the winds of the Holy Spirit move me today. Amen.
