Matthew 18:2-4 (NIV): “He called a little child to him, and placed the child among them. And he said: “Truly I tell you, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven. Therefore, whoever takes the lowly position of this child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven.”

Who likes change? We get stuck in the way things have always been done. Status quo is easier than coloring outside the lines and having someone discipline us because we didn’t finish our painting like it was planned.

I like change. It keeps me young. Change is something you get back when you give more than required. You owe 65 cents, you give a buck and you get change. I think that’s what Jesus was talking about when he told us to change our behavior to be childlike. Give more than required. You will always get the change.

Dear God,
Change my heart, Oh God. Give me the heart of a child so that I can always have change to give away. Amen.
