Braver Than You Believe

When have you had to be brave?  When have you had the chance to stand up for someone who needed an advocate?  When have you gone outside your comfort zone?

I tend to think I’m not that brave, I don’t try to stand out and I like to be comfortable.  I call myself a Jesus-follower.  I think it’s impossible to be a true Jesus-follower and not have courage.  Jesus calls us to be brave, to stand up for the invisible and leave our places of comfort behind.

People of God have been doing these things since Bible times.  And if you think “people of God” in the Bible means “men”, think again.  A brave young woman named Esther stood up and went outside her comfort zone. She fasted and I’m sure she prayed for God’s help and guidance.  She’s a role model for all of us – women and men alike.

With God at our side, we can surely:
“Promise me you'll always remember: You're braver than you believe, and stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think.  Christopher Robin to Pooh” ~ A.A. Milne

When we let God be the center of our lives, we are brave, strong and smart!  Yay God!  We’ll be looking for you tomorrow at 9 or 10:30 to celebrate one another’s courage and learn all about the brave young queen Esther.  See you then.

Blessings,
Vikki
