Boundaries

Luke 10:23-24 “…Blessed are the eyes that see what you see. For I tell you that many prophets and kings wanted to see what you see but did not see it, and to hear what you hear and did not hear it.”

Gotye’s “Somebody that I used to know.” I think this is an intriguing song. Who is “somebody that I used to know?” Have you ever thought about who you used to know? Did they lose contact with you, or did you lose contact with them? The people you are dealing with, those who are next to you, those who are close to you will one day be somebody that you used to know.”

I have this concept of GOD. Every time I truly sit down and evaluate this concept of GOD I start to think of boundaries and I don’t know why. My mind sets boundaries. As I look at these boundaries in detail, I am starting to think that “I” have set these boundaries myself. Yes, there are laws, but I set boundaries beyond that!

Boundaries of who I love,                                                                                                              Boundaries of who I let in.

GOD has always pushed my boundaries. Sometimes I didn’t know it and maybe sometimes I ignored it, but GOD has always pushed my boundaries.

When I heard the song by Gotye “Someone that I used to know” I wondered if I could, “used to know” GOD? There were times in my life I believe I was less of a prophet than I am now J. There may have been times that GOD was “someone that I used to know.” BUT it is now that I realize something, I can give up on GOD, but GOD can’t give up on me!” It hit me like a brick! It is ridiculous, the stupidest thing I have ever thought! My boundaries were set!

But then I started to think about it. You can give up on GOD, but GOD can’t give up on you!

It doesn’t make sense…… Just because we don’t understand it and we can’t really comprehend it, doesn’t mean it isn’t true. We can push our boundaries!

Gandhi said, Religions are different roads converging to the same point, What does it matter that we take different roads so long as we reach the same goal?”

The Qur’an 2:105 says “… but GOD chooses for His grace whoever he will: His bounty has no limits.”

Luke 10:23-24 ““…Blessed are the eyes that see what you see. For I tell you that many prophets and kings wanted to see what you see but did not see it, and to hear what you hear and did not hear it.”

GOD has always pushed my boundaries.

How are your eyes? How are your ears?

You can give up on GOD, but GOD can’t give up on you!

You can’t become “someone GOD used to know.” GOD knew you before you were born. You, you and I, we are human. We set boundaries. We set boundaries for ourselves, we set boundaries for those around us, for those in our family, for our friends, for our neighbors… we even set boundaries for those we don’t even know!

And I, I even set boundaries for GOD.

Luke 10:23-24 ““…Blessed are the eyes that see what you see. For I tell you that many prophets and kings wanted to see what you see but did not see it, and to hear what you hear and did not hear it.”

You may be lost or you may be found. You may be hurting now or you may be hurt later, but you are not “someone GOD used to know!” You are a wonderful, loving, precious child of GOD!

May you keep your eyes open and may you hear what many prophets and kings want to hear and see, but do not see or hear it.

Precious Father, Loving GOD, Holy Spirit, AMEN!
