“God Blesses those people whose hearts are pure.
They will see him!”

Matthew 5:8

Blessings are taken for granted by many of us. As I listened to our sister, Angie Jumper, preach this last Sunday, Mother’s Day, I thought to myself, how blessed I am in my life. My family was with me on a beautiful spring day celebrating Mother’s Day and my granddaughter's 5th birthday. As Miss Jumper reminded us all, we should be thankful to our mothers who brought us into this world and have loved us unconditionally our entire lives. As the day came to an end, my granddaughter was having so much fun, that she did not want to leave. She cried as she was leaving saying, “I don’t want to leave my family.” My heart soared as I thought that the time we had during the day was filled with so many blessings. Another reminder to not get too tied up with all of the hustle and bustle of my daily like and forget the little things in life that are important. God’s blessings for us come in mysterious ways, even if it is a crying granddaughter. I once again was reminded that I need to open my heart and let the blessings flow. As the night ended I thanked God for the wonderful family I have and that I once again had the opportunity to be a part of a memory that will be cherished forever.

Dear God, I ask for you to help me to acknowledge the blessings in my life. Help me to be grateful and happy for the life you have given me. Thank you for giving me the opportunity to step back and let your will be done. In your son’s name, Jesus, I pray. Amen.
