“God Blesses those people whose hearts are pure.

They will see him!”

Matthew 5:8

Blessings are taken for granted by many of us.  As I drove six hours this weekend for a “cousins” reunion in Kansas, I thought to myself, there are many other things I should or could be doing.  But once I arrived and begin to see family and catch up on memories, I realized that this is where God needed me to be.  There were family members there from age 90 to 15 months old.  Hearing the laughter, cries and joyful sound from those around was heartwarming.  I tend to get tied up with all of the hustle and bustle of my daily like and forget the little things in life that are important.  God’s blessings for us come in mysterious ways.  I once again was reminded that I need to open my heart and let the blessings flow.  When I got in the car to make the return six hour drive home, all I could do was thank God I had the opportunity to be a part of a memory that will be cherished forever.

Dear God, I ask for you to help me to acknowledge the blessings in my life.  Help me to be grateful and happy for the life you have given me.  Thank you for giving me the opportunity to step back and let your will be done. In your son’s name, Jesus, I pray. Amen.
