Better Than A Hallelujah

Our fears can become huge, overwhelming.  We can run scared and afraid.   Try to take it all on our own shoulders and it's a pretty heavy burden to bear.   Until we can no longer carry it we cry out to God.   Why is it often easier to shout out a joyous Hallelujah than to break open our souls and lay it at His feet when we are in despair?   Amy Grant's song "Better Than A Hallejuah" reminds me that I don't need to be ashamed of being weak and scared because God hears my cries and to Him it's beautiful.   To Him I'm not a real mess....I'm real.  Pour yourself out before the Lord and let Him hear your beautiful music.  Come to me, all you that are weary and carrying heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me; for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light. Matthew 11:28-30

~ Nancy Nickoley

We pour out our miseries

God just hears a melody

Beautiful the mess we are

The honest cries of breaking hearts

Are better than a Hallejuah
